As we rely on vacuum for our single picking tasks, we are able to ensure that the size of the gripper (opening diameter) does not limit the product to handle. Furthermore, we can control easily if we have successfully grasped a product or not.
Another advantage is that, as we customize our tools to your requirements, we can offer several different options:
Secondary Grippers: We build the tool around the extending / retrieving suction cup in the center of the tool. We then decide what secondary gripper suits best your application: a mechanical gripper, a suction ring or a foam gripper.
Compensator: We can add a compensator to the gripper, as we know that torque sensors are not as reliable nor quick to respond to products being approached in a direct line
Low Friction Cylinders: By utilizing low friction, yet customized) cylinders, you can utilize the center suction cup as a product detector without damaging it
Length of extension: You can freely choose how far the inner suction cup is supposed to extend / reach.
Rotary connection for the large vacuum hose: we are aware how hard it is to route cables and hoses. Which is the reason why we came up with a rotary swivel connection, allowing you to rotate the tool 360 degrees without having to worry about the largest hose.
Common vacuum chamber for both vacuum grippers: when utilizing two sets of vacuum components, such as the inner suction cup in addition to an outer vacuum ring or foam gripper, we can design the tool to automatically activating the outer / secondary gripper if needed.
Different types of suction-cups and foams: Depending on our own R&D as well as field reporting, we know which foams and suction cups work best for the different applications.
Multiple SKU Picking:
Multiple SKU picking, be it full layers, an entire row of products or just a couple of products, can be more challenging than expected. Specially with so many different actors on the market, trying to sell you their tool rather than recommending you the best available technology. At RGS, we make sure to constantly compare and survey all the different types of grippers as well as the different players offering similar products. If you would like to have a second opinion, or would like to outsource the design, purchase and commissioning of these grippers, contact us. We have several years of experience in designing and finding the best solutions on the market.
